Smart PPE powered by Intellinium selected by French Building & Construction accelerator

French national building & construction accelerator managed by Impulse Partners has selected Intellinium and its smart PPE technology during its last startup pitch session in April.

Intellinium is now expanding its innovative technology into building & construction industry where smart PPE and Connected Worker hub can play a decisive role in preventing occupational accidents and saving lives.

US Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) gives a very good overview about the specific risk in construction industry. Potential hazards for workers in construction include:

  • Falls (from heights);
  • Trench collapse;
  • Scaffold collapse;
  • Electric shock and arc flash/arc blast;
  • Failure to use proper personal protective equipment; and
  • Repetitive motion injuries.

European situation is the same as in US. Construction workers are suffering more occupational fatal accidents than others.

Connected Worker added-value ecosystem is not only a list of passive wearables, it's more about a full ecosystem able to drive real-time decision-making process.

An example is to notify a worker and a driver simultaneously when there is imminent risk of collision. Another example is to secure an area by triggering dynamic geofencing features.

Intellinium safety pod can be attached in less than 10 s to virtually almost any safety shoes or boots, which is a key differentiation in construction industry.
